Alfred married Lura N. Scott on Sept. 29, 1956.
Alfred worked for various shoe shops, Worthmore store, Webber Oil Company and Dirigo Stitching Co., and he retired from Sargent and Sargent in 2007.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lura N. Hayden, of Madison; his daughter, Sharon Dempsey of Connecticut; grandchildren Scott and Rachel Dempsey of Connecticut; brothers Herbert and Greta Hayden of Athens, Durwood Hayden and Marjorie Hayden of Hartland, Douglas Hayden, Wayne and Greta Hayden of Solon; sisters Chloe and Garold Collins of Cornville, and Corrine and Norman Richardson of Clinton; special nieces and nephews; and special friends Carlton and Carol Boyd.
He was predeceased by his father, Francis M. Hayden; his mother, Nettie L. Hayden; brothers Bernard, Millard, Wilder and Carl; and sister Doris Hayden.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan.(Morning Sentinel 2/15/2011)
