TO BURY LEA RANCHER HERE
Funeral services will be held at St. Edward's Church at 10 a.m. Thursday for Augustine Etcheverry, 42, prominent Lea county rancher and step-brother of Marion Alzugary of Carlsbad, who died yesterday.
Etcheverry, who operated a ranch 20 miles northwest of Lovington, died on a plane enroute from Lovington to a Hobbs hospital. He had been ill a short time.
He was widely known in Eddy and Lea county ranching circles.
Born at Pecos in 1900, he lived in Carlsbad and attended school here.
Ranch friends and neighbors will serve as pallbearers when services are held tomorrow. Burial will be in the Carlsbad Cemetery.
Besides his step-brother, Marion Alzugary, well know Carlsbad rancher, and his mother, Mrs. Pete Etcheverry, he is survived by a sister, Mary Etcheverry, and a step-brother, Frank Alzugary, both of Lovington; and two uncles, Pello Etchevery of Lovington and Jim Etcheverry of Carlsbad.
