Albert Wahl, the first son born to Christoper and Maria (Horn) Wahl, was born Oct 19, 1860 in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County Pa.
Albert married Kathrine May who was born March 12 1862 in Hyndman, Pa. After marriage they took up housekeeping in a home with several acres of land adjoining the Christoper Wahl family homestead. Their home overlooked the Casselman River and part of the Howard Miller, now the Ernest T. Miller and Carrie (Miller) Long farm.
Here Albert and Kathrine had born to them eleven children, eight sons and three daughters. A son and a daughter passing away a the age of two.
Albert was a Coal Miner by trade; however, during his youth he assisted his father in Grist Mill operations. He was also a skilled butcher, each year taking leave from the coal mine to assist neighbor families with their butchering.
Like most of his brothers he farmed his several acres of land, growing most of the family food along with livestock.
Albert died April 29 1946. Kathrine preceded him in death, having passed away April 18 1932. Both are buried in the Union Cemetery in Meyersdale. They were members of the Reformed Church of Meyersdale Pa.

Albert Wahl, 85, died at 1:25 a.m. Monday, April 29, at the home of his son
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wahl of Meyersdale R.D. 3. He had been
ill only a few days.
He was born on Oct. 19, 1860, in Rockwood, a son of Christopher and Marian [Maria]
Wahl. Surviving are six sons - Harvey, Aliquippa; Christopher, Meyersdale, R.D.
3; George, North St., Meyersdale; Charles and Ray, both Meyersdale R.D. 3, and
Marling, Cumberland, Md. He also left 37 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren,
one brother, Martin Wahl, Meyersdale R.D. 3, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Queer,
Somerset.
His wife, the former Catherine [Katherine] May, died several years ago. Two sons and
three daughters also preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted at
the home of his son, George, North St., Meyersdale, on Wednesday afternoon at
2:30 by Rev. S. M. Whetstone, pastor of the Berlin Brethren Church, and were
largely attended. Interment in Union Cemetery, under the direction of W. C.
