Sue Hamm Armistead, 92, died Sunday, February 13, 2011, after a brief illness. She was born July 18, 1918, in Mobile, AL, to the late Grady and Susan (Ledkins) Hamm. She met her husband Thomas H. Armistead at the University of Alabama. They wed in 1937 and remained happily married until his death in 1985.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Terrell Crow and husband, Jeffrey of Cary, NC; two grandchildren, Jennifer and David Crow of Cary.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church in Cary. Interment at the National Cemetery in Raleigh will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
