Mr. Campbell retired in 1986 from Newport News Shipbuilding as a Master Shipbuilder after 45 years of service. He also was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and a Master Mason with Monitor Lodge #197.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Leola Parrish Campbell; and a brother, Louis Campbell.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nora Hamm Campbell; son, Chris Campbell of Hampton; and two grandsons, Jacob and Myles Campbell.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, at Peninsula Funeral Home with services at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
