The former Rose Binversie, she was born at School Hill, town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, on September 6, 1897, a daughter of William and Regina Schuler Binversie. She attended Holy Trinity School at School Hill. On June 6, 1916, she was married to Alois Schad at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He died Nov. 9, 1957.
Mrs. Schad was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein, and its Christian Mothers Society.
Survivors are three sons, Robert of Marytown, Albert of New Holstein and LeRoy of Route 1, New Holstein; five daughters, Mrs. William (Loretta) Schuler of Route 1, Valders, Mrs. Sally Lutzke of Valders; Mrs. Roman (Dorothy) Wiskerchen of St. Anna, Mrs. LaVerne (Marion) Rach of Kiel, and Mrs. Roman (Judy) Thuecks of New Holstein; 38 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; two brothers, Nicholas and Conrad Binversie, both of School Hill, and five sisters, Mrs. Angeline Koenig, Mrs. Raymond Steffan, Mrs. Helen Kirsch, all of School Hill, and Sister Eulogia SDS of Milwaukee.
Funeral Mass was Wednesday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. Ralph Hermsen pastor, was the celebrant of the Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
