Per obit in the Palm Beach Post - Dr. Haughton was born in Athey, Ireland. He lived in the Palm Beach area since 1924 and was a life member of the American Optometric Association. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church & a Veteran of World War I. At the time of his death two brothers, John and Malcom both of England, wife, and children David, Jean, & Patricia survived him.
Note: His only daughter was Patricia Marie Wood. He had two adopted step children, David Haughton and Jean Haughton Lee. A.C. Haughton married Doris on September 30, 1937. David was 5, Jean was 7 and Patricia was 9.
