Chico Daily Record, Tuesday, December 16, 1902, pg 1 col 2: Vernon, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Skelly, died at an early hour yesterday morning at the family home corner of Eighth and Walnut street, the cause of death being pneumonia. The funeral will take place this morning at 10 o’clock from the home.

Infant Vernon Skelly was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on December 16, 1902.
