Cleo Dawkins Kunkle, 85, of Prosperity, widow of the late Ira Elmer Kunkle, died June 12, 2004, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Motte Edgar and Lillie Nichols Dawkins. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Brenda (Howard) Smith of Newberry; three sons, Joe (Linda) Kunkle of Prosperity, and Russell (Cathy) and Keith (Johnny) Kunkle all of Newberry; a sister, Nan Buford of Newberry; six grandchildren and their spouses, Marcie (Jason) Harvey, Kellie (Trent) Fowler, Karen Kunkle, Kevin (Heather) Kunkle, LaShea Kunkle and Keitt Kunkle; two step-grandchildren, Rodney Hicks and Ashley Hicks; two great-grandchildren, Reese Harvey and Brandon Fowler, and two step-great-grandchildren, Natalie Hicks and Adam Hicks. Mrs. Kunkle was predeceased by a step-great grandchild, Lauren Hicks. Burial was in St. Luke's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
