‎ ‎ ‎ NAMPA--—Funeral services or Thomas B. Butt, 87-year-old Civil war veteran of Nampa, who died last week in Los Angeles, Calif., where he had gone to spend the winter with relatives, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Robinson chapel. The Rev. H. C. Rohr will have charge of the service, which will be private.
‎ ‎ ‎ Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Miss Lois Butt of Nampa and Mrs. M. Parsons of California; three sons, Vance and D. L. Butt of Nampa and Edward of Portland. He served with Company I of the Illinois volunteer infantry and was with Sherman on his famous march to the sea. He was one of a group of 13 chums who enlisted on August 13, 1862, and went through the entire war without a fatality and were discharged on the same day, he had told relatives.
