OBITUARY-MRS. JAS. COOPER
Mrs. James Cooper, whose maiden name was Eliza Kinch, died at Pontiac Monday, Oct. 24, 1927, at the age of 82 years. She was born in New York state [error - Ontario, Canada] and July 5, 1871, she was united in marriage to James Cooper. In 1880, they came to Tuscola county from St. Lawrence Co., N.Y., and settled on a farm in Kingston township where they lived until April of this year. Mrs. Cooper being in very poor health, they went to live with a granddaughter, Mrs. Ernest France [Beulah Cooper], of Pontiac. Mrs. Cooper was the mother of eight children. Only three are living and they are Ernest of Kingston township, Mrs. A. Sage [Rebecca] of Vassar, and Curtis of East Lansing. She is also survived by her aged husband, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was a good mother and a kind neighbor and had many friends who will miss her. The remains were brought to Deford on Wednesday afternoon. Funeral was held in the church, Rev. Clifton Scott, the pastor, officiating, and burial was made in Novesta cemetery.
