SUTTELL, Annette M. 91, passed away Feb. 6, 2011, in the care of Oak Tree Manor, Seminole. Mrs. Suttell is survived by a son, R. Kirk Suttell DDS of St. Petersburg; three grandchildren, Lauren, Nicholas and Marissa; two sisters, Constance Jessup of Raleigh, NC and Morley Gavin of Niagara Falls, NY and 15 nephews and nieces. She was the widow of G. Richard Suttell, also of Niagara Falls, NY. Annette was born in Niagara Falls, NY Sept. 30, 1919. The oldest of four children, Mrs. Suttell was a graduate of Mercyhurst College, Erie, PA. She had lived in St. Petersburg since 1957. During her working career, she was a licensed cosmetologist, a school teacher and later became the second female stock broker to be licensed by the New York Stock Exchange in St. Petersburg, with the firm of Thomson, McKinnon, Auchincloss. Mrs. Suttell was an active member of the Zonta Womens Club of St. Petersburg; she and her husband were members of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, and music. She will be remembered by her family as an indomitable spirit who found great pride in accomplishments of her family members. Her encouragement supported many nephews, nieces and her grandchildren into professional careers. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on March 5, 2011, at 10 am at St. Mary Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. A family gathering will be held in Seminole following the service. A private family burial ceremony will be held at Bay Pines Memorial Veterans Cemetery on March 7, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Suncoast Hospice.
