Services for Richard R. Emerson, 77, Nyssa, Ore., formerly of Marsing, who died Monday at a Caldwell hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Shepherd Chapel in Nampa. Officiating will be the Rev. Clay Stephens of the Marsing Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in Kohlerlawn.
He was born Nov. 2, 1888, at Comstock, Neb., and was reared there. He married Lula Mary Mattox at Broken Bow, Neb., Nov. 18, 1911, and they moved to Marsing from Custer County, Dry Valley, Neb. in 1940. She died Oct. 15, 1964. He had been making his home with a daughter is Nyssa, Ore. since that time. He was a member of the Marsing Assembly of God Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Austa Smith of Nyssa; eight sons, Kenneth R. of Marsing, Donald E. of Roy, Utah, Dwight F. of Milwaukee, Ore., the Rev. Richard D. of Commerce City, Colo., the Rev. Russell R. of Portland, Ore., Raymond R. of Corona, Calif., Waldo W. of Nampa and Paul E. of Marsing; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Carpenter of Carney, Neb., Mrs. Mary Thompson of Lyman, Neb., Mrs. Ada Gibbons of Coos Bay, Ore.; four brothers, Ralph Emerson of Oakland, Ore., Carey Emerson of Alliance, Neb., John Emerson of Bassett, Neb., George Emerson Haynes of Morrisville, Pa.; 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
