James Murry "Pee Wee" Carter, age 74, of Italy, passed away early Monday, February 21, 2011 at his home. He was born March 6, 1936 in Waxahachie to Aline (Murray) and John Willis Carter, Sr. Pee Wee was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Italy for many years, the Italy Masonic Lodge, the AQHA and the NCHA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife. Beverly Ann Williams Carter of Italy; children, Stephen Carter and wife Cindy, Renee Finley and husband Kip all of Italy and Kelly Cale and husband Roland of Lewisville; brother, John Willis Carter, Jr. and wife Josephine of Carrollton; aunt, Nettie Roberts of Hillsboro; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Brandon and husband Jimmy of New Hampshire, James Lee Finley and fiancée Emily Langley, Joshua Buchanan and fiancée Lori Smith, Seth Buchanan and wife Lindsey, John Buchanan, Cristie Enriquez and husband Eric and Mistie Saxon and husband Andy all of Italy; 4 great grandchildren, Jayden Saxon, Kylie Saxon, Tinzley Enriquez and Zachary Buchanan and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Italy.
Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Brother Grady Cashion and Brother Cleve Clark officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at the Italy Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Lee Finley, Joshua Buchanan, John Buchanan, Seth Buchanan, Eric Enriquez and Andy Saxon. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Morgan, Danny Poole, H. L. Southard, Chuck Adams, Ronald Janek, Charles Adams and Weldon Holley.
