Daniel Yost, (Lutheran, Auto Mechanic). Born Dec 28, 1872, on a farm near Reed City, Osceola county, Michigan. Son of Peter & Fanny (Oyer) Yost.

In the year 1878, he moved with his parents on a farm of 240 acres near the town of Plymouth, Jefferson county, Nebraska.

On February 4, 1896, he married, Louise Boesch, at Plymouth. Born August 28, 1877 at St. Louis, Missouri. Daughter of Christian Boesch and Wilhelmina Stratman of St. Louis.

After their marriage they lived on his father's farm of 160 acres, three miles west and one mile north of Plymouth.

In the year 1900 they moved to Swanton, Saline county.

In the year 1901 they moved to Western, Saline county, where they stayed for a short time.

In the year 1902 they moved back to Swanton, where he was engaged in the Dray business and also conducted a meat market.

In the year 1912 he built a Garage and started in the Automobile business. First dealing in "Fords" for sixteen years. Later he took the agency for "Chevrolet" cars.

On August 5, 1935 he suffered a stroke of paralysis, which affected his right side and partially disabled him. He got quite well again so that he could walk around and write letters. He wrote many interesting letters to his cousin John M. Dyck (author of this short biography).

On July 20, 1940, he took severely sick with a sharp gall stone, and was taken to the Beatrice Hospital where he passed away on July 24, 1940. Funeral services were held at the home and interment in the Swanton Cemetery.
