Alta Dearringer of Jim Bland Road, Liberty, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was 86. Born in Casey County on May 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Sarah M. Farris Bland. She was a homemaker and attended White Oak and Shady Grove churches.
She was the widow of Gilbert Dearringer.Survivors include a son, Dwight Dearringer of Liberty; two daughters, Brenda Purchio of Walnut Creek, Calif. and Charlene McMillan of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Delta Hamm of Liberty.She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Dearringer.
Funeral services were Jan. 17 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Bro. Casey Davis. Burial was in Whited Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandchildren
