BEACOM, Rosyann Abernathy, age 72, teacher, of Lakeland, died Wednesday March 2, 2011 at home from cancer.
She was born on March 9, 1938 in Wabash, Indiana. She graduated from Lakeland Senior High in 1956 and received a BA from Ball State University in Elementary Education in 1960. She taught at Medulla Elementary in Lakeland for 24 years before retiring and was an active member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Hank Beacom, two sons, Reid Craven of Brooksville and Wes Craven of Lakeland, 2 stepsons, Phillip Beacom of Valrico and Kevin Beacom of Prattville, AL as well as 2 granddaughters and 6 step-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, 72 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
