Roy was the son of Lud E. Ball & Catherine Evelyn Lewis. He married Faye Burns Clark. Roy did not have any children, but he was step-father to Faye's children from a previous marriage. Roy and his wife Faye were two of the sweetest people in world. They were very admired and respected by their neighbors.
Roy tragically lost his life when two men he knew broke into his home, beat him, and left him to die when they set his home on fire and fled away in his car. His home was destroyed by the fire and had to be torn down. It was located on Charlie Creek road in Culloden, just across the railroad track on the right hand side of the road going south .
