Arcadio G. Aleman Jr., 81, of Nogales, Ariz., and formerly of Eloy, died on March 4, 2011.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 9 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Aleman was born on Feb. 20, 1930 in Hebbronville, Texas, to Arcadio and Augustine Aleman. He served in the Korean War. He married Rita Urieta on Dec. 5, 1948, and moved to Eloy, where they raised eight children. He worked at Lakeshore Mine south of Casa Grande and was a diesel mechanic.
He spent as much time as he could with his family. He enjoyed music and dancing, but his favorite time was going to Mass, as he was a faithful Catholic. He married Maria N. Valdez on Sept. 19, 1998, and moved to Nogales.
Survivors include his wife, Maria; four sons, Ricardo Aleman of Eloy, Danny Aleman of Coolidge, Jose Aleman of Olney, Texas, and Alfredo Aleman of Eloy; three daughters, Carmen Espinoza and Cecilia A. Belloc of Eloy and Norma Perez of Casa Grande; two stepsons, Oscar N. and Blas N. Valdez of Nogales; two brothers, Luis Aleman of Olney and Octaviano Aleman of Falfurrias, Texas; four sisters, Delia Calderon of Kearny, Texas, Elva Salas of Falfurrias, Nita Esquivel of San Antonio, Texas, and Elvira Martinez of Olney; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife; a daughter, Augustina Pena; three brothers; and a sister.
