Thelma Irene Smith, age 83, of Elm Springs, Arkansas, died March 7, 2011, at Washington Regional Hospice in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Born July 22, 1927, in Bentonville, Arkansas, the daughter of Gilbert Thomas and Dorothy Dean (Mayfield) Lawson.

She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Cave Springs, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Leroy Smith; a twin sister, Christine Wolford, and sisters, Vera Powell and Jane Lawson; brothers, Julian Lawson, Robert "Bob" Lawson, and Rev. Jack Lawson.

Survivors include two sons, Harry "Steve" Smith (and wife, Helen) and John "Mike" Smith (and wife, Emma) all of Springdale, Arkansas; a daughter, Diana Young, of Springdale, Arkansas; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Jerry Scott and Shirley Holiday, both of Bentonville, Arkansas; and two brothers, Jim Lawson of Decatur, Arkansas and Bill Lawson of Washington state.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2011, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Johnny Harp officiating.

Burial will be at Elm Springs Cemetery, Elm Springs, Arkansas.
