Services for John Jahnke Held Wednesday Afternoon
The death of John Jahnke, 226 E. Liberty street, occurred Sunday, evening at the local hospital, following a several days' illness with pneumonia. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 o'clock at the house and 2 p.m. at the Baptist church. Rev. C. R. Drussel officiated assisted by Rev. Hermann Koenig. Burial took place at Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Jahnke was born in Germany, Oct. 5, 1858, and came to America with his parents the following year. They settled in the vicinity of Barrington where he has spent his life. He has been a resident of Barrington for the past fifty years.
Mr. Jahnke is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters, William and Curtis Jahnke of Barrington, Mrs. M. Regan and Mrs. Robert Hams of Park Ridge, and Mrs. C. Comfort of Palatine. There are three grandchildren, one brother, Charles Jahnke of Barrington, and four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Lampert of Elgin, Mrs. Anna Flintrupp and Mrs. Mary Regby of Chicago, and Mrs. Ida Suhler of Hannibal, Mo.
