Aviation Pioneer. Born Hilder Florentina Youngber in California, she was one of aviation's first female pilots. On June 10, 1914, she made her first solo flight and was the first woman to fly an airplane from Los Angeles International Airport. She also was an aerial acrobat pilot and the first female parachute jumper.
