With the passing of April 13, 1919, Mrs Nancy Jane Gutherie-Pierce was released from earthly service to join the Chior
Invisible to those immortal dead, who live again, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 7 days. She was born in Saral County, Kentucky, May 8th 1845.
September 6, 1886 she was united in marriage to Jacob
Pierce. To this union ten children were born, eight of whom are now living. I the year 1870 they moved to Illinois, where they lived until 1878, when they moved to Anderson County Kansas. In the year 1868 they moved to Roseville Junction, California, and remained there until 1890, when they came to Liberty, Nebraska, where they have since lived.
The remaining children are: Robert, James, Maggie, George, Ida, Ada, Rebecca and Birdie. Mrs Pierce is survived by four sisters, Mrs Katherine Pierson, or Barneston, Nebraska, Mrs Emma Pierce, of Oklahoma, and Miss Martha Gutherie and Mrs Elizabeth Watts, of Kentucky.
Mrs Pierce united with the Baptist Church in 1858, and remained with that faith until the time of her death.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by L.S. Burnham, paster of the Christian Church. Interment was made in the Liberty Cemetery.
