Florence - Edith Todd Ford, 87, widow of Zarvis Thomas Ford Sr., died Monday, May 16, 2005, in a local hospital after an illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the funeral home.
She was born in Loris, a daughter of the late Grier Hadden and Glenn Grainger Todd. She was a graduate of Coker College with a degree in mathematics. She was a retired teacher, having taught at Loris, McClenaghan and South Florence high schools.
Mrs. Ford was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Boyce Todd and Rudolph Todd; and a sister, Hazel Todd.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty F. Ayers of Woodstock, Va.; a son, Zarvis Thomas Tom Ford Jr. of Florence; a sister, Carolyn Todd of Loris; and four granddaughters, Suzanne Ford, Elizabeth Ford, Carolyn Ayers, and Robin Ayers.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Television Ministry, 300 S. Irby St., Florence, SC 29501.
