Florence Madeline Allen, 82, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Montgomery County, Va., on June 14, 1926, to the late Jesse and Lena Price Allen and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Allen and Paul C. Allen Sr.; one sister, Edith Wampler; and one niece, Sandra Mawyer. Florence retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant with many years of service and was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. Florence loved fishing with her friends and will be dearly missed by the community and her family and friends. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Lucille Allen, of Homestead, Fla.; 11 nieces and nephews, Brenda K. Allen, of Blacksburg, Lisa Powell, of Homestead, Fla., Teresa Vest, of Canton, Ga., William Allen, of Blacksburg, Gary Allen, of Shenandoah, Sherry Armbrister, of Dublin, Lynwood Allen, of Troutville, Linda White, of Blacksburg, Elaine Hite, of Dublin, Paul "P.J." Allen Jr., of Ashburn, and Bonnie Bradberry, of Christiansburg; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Interment in the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sunnyside.
