ANDRUS, Floyd Laverne – 89 of Roseburg passed away at the Roseburg VA Medical Center, Friday, May 06, 2005. He was born in Tranquile, B.C., Canada on July 3, 1915 to Nelson and Jennie (Hart) Nelson, of Lookingglass, OR. Floyd served his country during WWII as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was in the Parachute Infantry on the European front, during the D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, and the final assault on the German home land campaigns. On November 8, 1947, Floyd married Ferne Fautheree in Roseburg, OR. He supported his family by working in the lumber industry for many years. Floyd was a past governor and held fellowship degree of the Roseburg Moose Lodge #1037. He loved to go hunting with his friends, Don Lands and Vergo Ligon, and fishing on the Oregon coast at Florence with Don Koch. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, sister Hazel, and brothers Arthur, Ivan, and Kenneth. Survived by his wife of 57 years Ferne Andrus of Roseburg, son Andrew Fautheree of Pagosa Springs, CO, granddaughters Tami Jo Braz and her husband Barry of Oakland, OR, Andrea R. Fautheree of Pagosa Springs, CO, and sisters Violet Burgess and Zerita Rose of Springfield, OR. A visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, May 9, 2005, at LONG AND SHUKLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005 within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
