The funeral of Mrs. Christina Pereira was held last Tuesday afternoon from the residence of her grand daughter, Mrs. A. C. Franco of Paia. Interment was made in the Kuau Cemetery with Rev. Father Jules officiating.
The deceased was 87 years old and spent the greater part of her life on Maui, coming here from San Miguel, Azores Islands, in 1881.
Mrs. Pereira was the mother of nine children, seven of them living. They include Mrs. A. M. Fetreira of Paia, Mrs. Augusta Amaral of Puunene, Mrs. J. C. Martins of 1219 8th Ave., Kaimuki; Manuel and John, living in CA. Besides her children, 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren all the latter on Maui, survive.
