In 1937 Gordon moved to Seattle, WA.
In 1942 Gordon enlisted in the Army. During WWII he did construction work on the airport in Germany.
After the war he worked as a heavy equipment operator, working on many construction sites in the state of WA, including the North Cascades Highway and Interstate 5. He worked in Alaska on the Fairbanks Airport and the Trans Alaskan Pipeline. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union in Seattle, from which he retired after 61 years.
He married Aimee Gertrude Zeisman in Reno, NV in 1955 and they settled in Coupeville, WA for 22 years. After 8 years of traveling in their motorhome they settled in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
Gordon was always smiling and joking, he enjoyed telling stories to his grandchildren and great granchildren about his life.
He was a hard worker and a family man. He had a passion for the water - boating, fishing and crabbing.
