Lee Pullium

Lee Pullium, 82, of Andrews died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1992, in a Charlotte hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Charles Avery and Tina Nichols Pullium.

He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired mechanic with the N.C. State Highway Department. He was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church for 51 years where he was an honorary lifetime deacon.

Surviving are his wife, Clara Palmer Pullium; one daughter, Alice Marie Ashe of Charlotte; two sons, Richard Lee Pullium, Jr. of Murphy and James David Pullium of Unaka; two sisters, Hazel Wilson of Charlotte and Frances Hamilton of Lincolnton; and three grandchildren, Mark Pullium of Clermont, Eric Pullium of Unaka, and Marcia Ashe of Charlotte.

Services were at 11 a.m. Friday Oct. 16, in Andrews First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Roberts officiating. Burial in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Harris, Virgil Gibson, Truett Gray, Giles Coffey, Lane Raxter, and Lynn Watson. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Andrews First Baptist Church.

Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of all arrangements.
