Clarence R. Ambrose, 70, a retired farmer of near Taneytown, died Saturday at noon at his home. He had been under doctor's care, but death was unexpected. He was born in Lantz, a son of the late John C. and Amanda M. Smith Ambrose. He was a member of the United Brethren Church, Deerfield.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Grace I. Brown Ambrose and the following children, John P., Cascade, Ira R., Gettysburg, Earl, Rocky Ridge, Wesley E., Littlestown, Pa., Mrs. Mary G. Edwards, Westminster and ten grandchildren and one brother, Marshall Ambrose, Hagerstown.
The body is at the Creager Funeral Home, Thurmont, where friends may call. Services will be held Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Harry Krone officiating. Interment will be in the United Brethren cemetery, Thurmont.
