Helen Louise Hennigh, daughter of Grant William and Grace Ann (Wilder) Wilkins, was born, December 27, 1919, in Melbourne, Washington. She departed this life Wednesday, March 16, 2011, in Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, two months and seventeen days.
In 1939 she was united in marriage to Edward Earl Hennigh and to this union ten children were born. Mr. Hennigh preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sons, an infant, James Paul Hennigh, Walton Grant "Dub" Hennigh, and Lyle Eugene Hennigh; a daughter, Peggy Deane Hoagland; a grandson, Micky Yates; and three granddaughters, Karen Hennigh, Kim Hennigh, and Gail Plain; six sisters and three brothers.
Helen is survived by her children, Russell Hennigh and David Hennigh and his wife, Shirley, all of Seymour, Missouri, Dale Hennigh and his wife, Sue, of Westmoreland, Kansas, Sherron Yates and her husband, Richard, of Seymour, Missouri, Connie Bell and her husband, Mitchell, of Porter, Texas, and Rodney Hennigh, of Seymour, Missouri; twenty-seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Rifenburg, Modesto, California; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She grew up in Washington and in l939 moved to California where she met and married Edward Earl Hennigh, and they moved to Marshfield, Missouri, then to Seymour and later to Fordland. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her family, she worked as a cook in several restaurants and at the H.D. Lee Company in Seymour for ten years.
Helen was saved and baptized at the Lone Star Freewill Baptist Church east of Seymour and had attended the Seymour Freewill Baptist Church.
In her spare time she had bowled with the H.D. Lee Bowling Team, collected butterflies, and played Solitaire. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trip to Hawaii.
She cherished the time she spent with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the precious memories she created for all those who knew and loved her.
Services are 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 21, 2011 in Seymour Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Mitchell Bell officiating. Burial will be in Fordland Cemetery in Fordland, Mo. under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour. Visitation will be 3:30-5:00 P.M. Sunday, March 20, 2011 in the funeral home.
