Services for Alverna M. Enneking, 72, who died Monday, Oct. 30 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre were, Thursday, Nov. 2, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre with her sons, Rev. Marvin Enneking and Rev. Tom Enneking, OSC concelebrating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Alverna Enneking was born on May 3, 1928 in St. Martin Twp., Stearns County, Minnesota to John and Frances (Hemmesch) Olmscheid. She married Alfred C. Enneking on May 25, 1948 at St. Martin. They farmed at Spring Hill until 1987. They retired and moved to Sauk Centre.

Alverna enjoyed gardening, sewing quilts, music and cards. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church where she served as an Eucharistic minister, a member of Christian Mothers, Sauk Centre Seniors, St. Theresa's Mission Group, Daughters of Isabella and St. Paul's Catholic Aid.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred Enneking of Sauk Centre; children: Bob Enneking and his wife, Donna of Glenco, Lenore Jenc of Sauk Centre, Rev. Marvin Enneking of Becker, Rev. Tom Enneking, OSC of Chicago, Ill., Renee VanDrehle and her husband, Bob of Spring Hill, and Gene Enneking and his wife, Cheryl of Cambridge; sisters, Elizabeth Schlangen of Cold Spring, Theresa Schaefer of St. Cloud, Marie Schoenberg of Melrose, Catherine Primus and her husband, Joseph of Melrose, Ann Backus and her husband, Herbert of Farming; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gilbert and Nick Olmscheid.

Casket bearers were Jim, David, Ken and Gary Enneking, Michael and Jeron VanDrehle. Cross bearer was Pamela Jenc.

Scripture bearer was Kristi VanDrehle. Pallbearer was Kari VanDrehle. Honorary bearers were the Christian Mothers. Petitions were read by David Enneking and Gift bearers were Cindy and Pam Jenc.
