Mercile Jackson, 53, died at Bulloch Memorial Hospital Sunday after a short illness. The Bulloch County native was a member of the Hodges Grove Baptist Church and attended the public schools of Bulloch County.
Survivors include five daughters, Glenda Payne and Sandy Mercile Jackson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Minda Canty and Cynthia Ann Jackson, both of Statesboro, and Myra Lynn Jackson, Atlanta; six sons, Gary Jackson, Patrick Jackson, Allen Smith and Willis Olive, Jr., all of Statesboro, Dewayne Jackson and Terry Jackson, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; her mother, Annie Jackson Hodges, Statesboro; three brothers, Thomas Jackson Jr., and Gillham Hodges, both of Statesboro, and Benjamin Jackson, Sanford, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, eight nieces, a nephew, eight aunts, eight uncles, a great-aunt and several cousins.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Hodges Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery. Payton's Mortuary.
