Martha Anderson, age 83, died Friday, May 04, 2007 in Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Virginia. Born on December 25, 1923 in Roanoke, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Judson Anderson and Julia Higginbotham Anderson. She was a 1941 graduate of Marion High School, a 1942 graduate of Marion College and received a B.S. Degree in Chemistry in 1946 from Roanoke College. She worked in the Library at Marion College and later received her B.S. Degree in Library Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1948. She moved to Oak Ridge in 1949 where she worked with the Oak Ridge Gas Diffusion Plant for 25 years and later with the Oak Ridge National Laboratories retiring in 1987 as a Research Librarian. Martha was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Oak Ridge and upon returning to Marion in 1987 joined the Ebenezer Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only brother, Marvin Judson "Udie" Anderson, Jr. who was killed during World War II. Surviving are seven cousins, Betty Bane Tate of Marion, Evelyn Anderson Gordon of Johnson City, Tennessee, Robert Preston Repass of Athens, GA, John Anderson Johnston of Pulaski, Nancy Johnston Shriver of Huntsville, AL, Dr. William Rhudy of St. Simons Island, GA, and Ann Heuser Dungan Ewing of San Diego, CA.

Memorial services will be held at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church with Pastor James H. Bangle officiating. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
