FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. DRAVES

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 15, 1962, for Sylvia Stella Dunwoody Draves, who passed away at the Kingston Golden Age Nursing Home at Kingston, Missouri. Elder A. H. Morse officiated at the 2:00 pm services at the Congregational Church in Nucla. Internment was in the Nucla Cemetery. The Walter S. Lowe Funeral Directory of Alamosa was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were: Don Watson, Charles Foote, Bob Skees, Ben Draves, Leslie Draves, and Bud Benson.
Mrs. Draves, who died Saturday, August 11, at 10 pm was born at Valpriso, Nebraska, on February 17, 1884. She spent her childhood in Nebraska.
In 1907 she was married to Wilhelm August Draves. To this union was born eight children, six boys and two girls.
The family moved to LaSalle, Colorado in 1925 and to Nucla in 1936.
Mr. Draves was instantly killed in a truck and train accident in 1929. Two sons also preceded her in death, Joseph at birth and Happy in 1954.
Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. A. Amelga Morgan, Norwich, Kansas and Sylvia Benson, Nucla, and sons, George, Los Angeles; Oley, Bethany, Missouri; Edward, Moffat, Colorado; Lee, Lokeba, Oklahoma; 38 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, two sisters, Nellie M. Bush of Ogalalla, Nebraska and Mamie Grasgean of Torrington, Wyoming.
Mrs. Draves had been a member of the Second Park Sewing Club, The Church of Christ, and V.F.W. Auxilary.
