Addison Meriwether, 78, 59 Tamiami Trail, Brighton, died Thursday, September 30 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor.

A resident of Livingston County for 12 years, Mr. Meriwether was retired from Ford Motor Company since 1963 as a machine repairman.

He was born May 14, 1896, in Frankfort, Kentucky, the son of Junius and Druzy (Hawkins) Meriwether. On August 4, 1920, he was married to Isabel M. Hickey in Detroit.

Surviving besides his wife, Isabel, are two sons, Robert of Ypsilanti and Richard of South Lyon; a brother, Raymond of Frankfort, Kentucky; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, October 2, at the Herrmann Funeral Home with the Reverend Kearney Kirkby, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Brighton, officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Brighton.
