Frank Peyton, 96, of 5907 Pering Ridge Rd., Coggon, died Saturday, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion, following a long illness. Services were held Monday, 8/12/2002, at Coggon United Parish Church by the Rev. James King and Bernard Reece. Burial was in Coggon Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Helen of Coggon; 2 sons, Keith Peyton nad wife Patsy and Kleon Peyton, all of Coggon; 3 stepchildren, Rhoda Trefz of Davenport, Sherry Zumbrunen of Phoenix, AZ, and Joe Henderson and his wife Sandy of Coggon; 4 sisters, Dorothy Franck of Keystone, Eullabelle Spaight of Walker, Ona Dudley of Monticello nad Ruth Johnson of Winthrop; 7 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lelah, a son Don; a stepdaughter, Karen; 2 brothers, Walter and Earl; and a sister Helen Simmons.
Frank was born the son of Jacob and Lois Foreman Peyton on May 30, 1906, in Troy Mills. Frank and Helen Henderson were untied in marriage in 1966 in Galena, Ill. He was a lifelong farmer as well as an insurance agent. Frank was a member of the Coggon United Parish Church and a member of the Coggon School Board for many years.
