Mrs. Mary Fox, aged 92 years, widow of Benson Fox and a lifelong resident of southern Greene County, died Saturday evening, May 27, 1944, at her home in Wayne Township, near Brock, after an illness of several months, due to a stroke of paralysis.
A daughter of the late Abraham F. and Rebecca Wade Ammons, she was born August 14, 1851, in Perry Township, near Mt. Morris, and was widely known in the Brock and Mt. Morris sections. She was married Sept. 7, 1871, to Benson Fox, who died August 1, 1937, and spent all her married life on the farm where she died. She was a member of the Valley Chapel Methodist Church at Brock. She is survived by two sons, Ammons Fox and Morris Fox, both of Spraggs, R. D. One daughter, Mrs. Maggie McClure, is deceased. There are four grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Nettie Myers, of Carmichaels, also survives.
