Mrs. Dessie Brown Phillips, 77 years, widow of T. C. Phillips, of South Washington street, died Thursday, April 21, 1960, in her home. Mrs. Philips was a daughter of Daniel F. and Sarah Shoup Brown, and was born at Nineveh, November 1, 1882. In 1903, she was united in marriage with T. C. Phillips, whose death occurred in 1950. Mrs. Philips was a member of Washington Street Methodist Church. Surviving are four grandchildren, Jack Kiger, of Washington; Richard Kiger of Waynesburg; Janice Kiger of Waynesburg, and Betty, wife of Charles White of Waynesburg; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Edgar of Waynesburg, and one brother, Joseph F. Brown of Amity. One daughter, Edith Leona Kiger, and one brother and one sister are deceased. Funeral services were held Sunday in the Garrison Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. W. H. Miller. Interment in Greene Mount Cemetery.
