Thomas C. Phillips, 72, of 545 South Washington street, former 30-year employee of the W. & W. Railroad and 17-year employee of the First National Bank and Trust Company, died at his home Wednesday, Oct. 18, 1950, at 2 a. m. after a lingering illness.
Born in Blacksville, W. Va., on Aug. 7, 1878, a son of the late Thomas and Nancy Myers Phillips, he had lived in Waynesburg for the past 47 years. He was married to the former Dessie Brown who survives. He was a member of the Washington Street Methodist Church.
Surviving are two brothers, S. R. Phillips of Waynesburg and Elza of Blacksville; one half-brother, J. E. Phillips of Blacksville, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. His only shild, Mrs. Edith P. Kiger, died on Nov. 22, 1938.
