James Harvey Phillips, 73, formerly of Wayne Township Greene Co., PA died at the home of his son, Byron Phillips of Washington, PA, February 4, 1937. Death was due to complications.
He was born March 1, 1864 in Perry Township, a son of Thomas H. Phillips and Elizabeth Myers Phillips. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma Yeager Phillips; a son Byron Phillips, and a daughter Mrs. Goldie Riggs of Steubenville, OH. A full brother, Jacob E. Phillips, Spraggs, PA and three half brothers, Spencer Ross Phillips, Thomas Phillips, Jobe Phillips all of Waynesburg, and A. Elza Phillips of Spraggs; a sister Sarah Louisa (W.I.) Wright of Fairmont, WV.
Weaver funeral home was in charge of arrangements with Rev. W.T. Lantz, Mt. Morris and Rev. Watts, Brave officiating the services with burial following in the Phillips Cemetery, Wayne Township, Greene Co., PA.--Newspaper obit.
