Margaret E. Chambers, 95, of Copeland Oaks, formerly of Damascus, died at 9:50 p.m. at Crandall Medical Center.

She was born July 23, 1890 in Mount Pleasant, Ohio, a daughter of the late Oscar W. and Edith Lloyd Patterson.

Mrs. Chambers had been a resident of Damascus since 1922. She was a member of the Damascus Friends Church and was a birthright member of the Friends Church, Eastern Region. She held many leadership positions in the church.

She was a former trustee of Malone College and was member of the Damascus Magazine Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Binford Vincent Chambers, who died in 1925. They were married Oct. 4, 1919.

Mrs. Chambers is survived by a son, Dr. Curtis Chambers of Shreveport, La.; a brother, Curtis Patterson of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Richard V. Chambers in 1978.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Damascus Cemetery with Rev. Richard Sartwell officiating. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 29 at Copeland Oaks Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Robert Hess officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Damascus Church memorial Fund. There will be no calling hours. Arrangement were handled by Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home.
