Irene's father was Isaac 'Ike' Newton Adair, who was born June 7, 1890 in Arkansas and died December 17, 1947 near Havana in Yell County, Arkansas. Her mother was Ethel Exer [Mott] Adair, who was born March 30, 1899 in Arkansas and died September 19, 1984 in Yell County. They are both laid to rest in Moore's Chapel Cemetery.

Ike and Ethel were married about 1914 in Yell County, and their children were Lattie Marie, Irene, Orbie, I.W., and Willie L. Adair.

Irene Adair was born and died in Richland Township, Yell County, Arkansas.

Lattie Marie's daughter, Dean [Inman] Brown, added a monument to Moore's Chapel Cemetery in memory of Irene and her infant brother I. W., who was born and died the previous year.
