Mosella "Ella" Fallwell was a very interesting young lady indeed! She was the 7th of 8 children born to her parents, Elisha Columbus Fallwell and Martha Jane Skaggs. Being the youngest girl, family history tells that Ella was the pet of the family. A young cousin, John Fallwell, of Dallas, Texas back, in the early 1900's, described Ella as an "Austin Belle". I believe, perhaps, that this may be a little different but closely related to a "Southern Belle". Mosella eloped with her first husband, Elisha Barnett "Liege" Fallwell, when he was a bartender in Austin. Liege was a 1st cousin once removed to Ella. Ella's grandfather, William H. Fallwell, was a brother to Liege's father John Falwell.

Mosella's father, Elisha Columbus Fallwell, was a policeman for the City of Austin, and his bartender son-in-law later became a policeman as well. Liege and Ella had two children of their own, Kenneth Lyle & Earl Barnett, and they also raised a young Hispanic girl named Rosa Murphy as their very own. Rosa was born in Mexico in 1883 and apparently her parents could not care for her, so they gave her to Liege & Ella. At the time they got Rosa, they lived on the edge of town near Austin. In 1906, when Rosa was 23 years old and the boys were yet teenagers, Liege died. Apparently Rosa married shortly after this and Ella was left with the boys. In 1909, Mosella married her second husband, Thomas Augustus "Gus" Little. There were no children born into this marriage. In the 1920's they lived in the Dallas area and Ella preceded her 2nd husband in death in 1932. Ella was 59 years old when she died. (Note: There seems to be a 3 year discrepancy on Mosella's death certificate as to her birthday making her a little younger. Perhaps it is because she was older than her 2nd husband, Thomas Augustus "Gus" Little! By the way, he is the informant on the death certificate.)
