Earl Hunt, 75, of Homer, died Monday, September 18, 2006, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Mr. Hunt was born August 27, 1931, in Edo, Kentucky, to Irland and Nona (Ward) Hunt.
He married Vercie Bishop October 14, 1948, in Pikeville, Kentucky, and she survives.
Mr. Hunt was a member of the Church of Christ in Marshall and enjoyed gardening and hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Craig Hunt of Homer; three daughters, Connie (Joe) Shaw and Jo Anne (Dennis) Johnson, both of Jonesville, and Rebecca (Mike) Tackett of Homer; three sisters, Gayrene May of Bidwell, Ohio, Brookise Stem of North Adams, and Doris Ball of Columbus, Ohio; five brothers, Steeril Hunt of Columbus, Ohio, John F. Hunt of Atlanta, Georgia, Troy Hunt of Kimper, Kentucky, Jack Hunt of Ewington, Ohio, and Ireland Hunt Jr. of Bidwell, Ohio; two half brothers, Raymond Hunt of Kentucky and Bud Hunt of Albion; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Viola; a sister, Sarah; and a half sister, Hazel Hunt.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 21, at the Homer Chapel of Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapels, with Pastor John Torrey officiating. Interment followed at Bentley Corners Cemetery.
