..Mrs. Lucy Kearns is quite ill and her death is hourly expected.
Kahoka News: June 30, 1893
--- Died, at her home in Athens, MO Friday, June 23, Mrs. Lucy Kerns. The deceased was born near McConnelsville, Ohio, May 24, 1829. She had been a constant sufferer for many years and died of cancer of the stomach. The funeral occurred on Saturday at 2 pm with sermon at the M.E. Church of which she had been a member for many years . Services were conducted by Rev. T. A. Burke. Two sons and two daughters, together with brothers , sisters and other relatives, survive.
