Adelaide Williams Griffith Curtis came as a bride to Iowa. Her parents were Augustus Frederick and Anne Eliza Browne Williams. She was first married to Lemuel C. Griffith, but he died young in 1869. She married Henry Clay Curtis on Nov 14, 1872 in Independence, Buchanan County, Iowa.

Henry Curtis practiced law in Buchanan County, Iowa until 1871 when he went to LeMars, Iowa where he practiced law for many years. He also served as a State Representative in Plymouth County, Iowa.

Henry and Adelaide had one daughter, Florence Mary Curtis (1874-1959). They also had one grandson, Henry V. Krupka, who changed his last name to Curtis.

Due to ill health, Adelaide Curtis lived in Italy and France for many years before her death.

This interment is in the Great Mausoleum, which is closed to the general public. It's full of security cameras, too, and photography is prohibited inside
