Herman Buchholz – Herman J. Buchholz, 86, a former Town of Schleswig farmer, died Thursday morning at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton, where he had been a patient for two weeks.

He was born March 22, 1895, in Kiel, son of Joseph and Albertina Rades Buchholz.
Mr. Buchholz was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War I.

He and the former Hulda Westphalen were married September 18, 1917, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in the Town of Schleswig. The couple farmed in the Town of Schleswig until a year ago when they made their home with their daughter and son-in-law at Route 1, New Holstein.
Mr. Buchholz was a member of the Kasper-Bechle-Wilkens American Legion Post 99 of Kiel.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Lester and Eldon of rural Kiel; twin daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Eunice) Hoefler of Route 1, New Holstein and Mrs. Harvey (Bernice) Hameister of Sheboygan; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel. The Reverend Robert Tussing, assistant pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel, officiated. Burial was in Eaton Cemetery in the Town of Eaton.
