Clyde F. Hagenow, 84, of 14012 STH 67, Kiel died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2003 at his home surrounded by his loving family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Whitelaw on April 4, 1918, son of the late Frederick and Lydia Stilling Hagenow. He attended school in Reedsville. Clyde married Elda Spettel at St. Peter's United Church, Kiel on Nov. 5, 1941. He farmed all his adult life in the town of Schleswig and also worked for Fries Von Kiel, and the former Gib's Services Station, Kiel. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel where he served on the church consistory and was an usher. Clyde enjoyed playing sheepshead, hunting, fishing and repairing bicycles in his retirement.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Elda or rural Kiel, one son, Dale and Carol Hagenow, rural Kiel, one daughter, Sherrie and Darrel Kienberger Jr., Kiel, four grandchildren; one great grandchild, one brother, Christ Hagenow of Rural Cleveland, one sister Gertrude (Elroy) Fischer, Brillion, and one sister-in-law, Loleta Hagenow, Brillion. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at St. Peter's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating. Burial took place in the Eaton Cemetery.
