Elizabeth was born in Luxembourg. She came to the United States with her parents and siblings.

In 1868, she married Nicholas Green. The couple had 13 children - Matthias, Michael, Jacob, Frank, William, Mamie, Annie, Josie, Lizzie, Frances, Joseph, Albert, and Gertrude. All the children survived her. Her husband Nicholas died the following year.∼Parents:
